6 CV vs Resume Resume = “summing up” –Only 1-2 pages –Focuses on job experience/skills CV = curriculum vitae = “course of life” –Focuses on education, publications, experience –Longer than a resume but be brief

7 CV Format There is no “right” way to format DO NOT use a template

8 Contact Information DO NOT include: –Marital status –Age –Race –Nationality –Citizenship –Language (unless…)

10 Education Reverse chronological order Do not necessarily need to include ALL education –Higher education most important
