10 BritLink 5 JPEG and GIF are the two graphic formats supported in BritLink 5 for the addition of pictures and graphics to your site.

11 BritLink 5 JPEG Joint Photographic Experts Group Photographs and Complex Graphics Supports 16 Million colors Uses a “Lossy” Compression Technique

12 BritLink 5 GIF Graphics Interchange Format Simple Graphics Supports only 256 colors Uses “Lossless” Compression Technique

13 HOWEVER Pictures can be saved as.jpg or.gif Graphic images can be both.jpg or.gif Make sure the file extension.jpg or.gif are saved with small letters.

17 BritLink 5 “Lossless” “Lossless” Data Compression uses the same exact data when compressing or decompressing data. Important for bank records, text & data files. These files can get big. GIF Files

18 BritLink 5 “Lossy” Used to compress Picture, Audio, Visual Files In compressing and decompressing data, the data may be different than the original. Smaller compressed files. JPEG Files

25 BritLink 5 It is better to downsize a picture rather than make a small picture larger. The less you change in size the better the Quality of the image will be!
