3 ESSENTIAL QUESTIONS: How can we create a Wordle? How does the “Print Screen” function serve to create screen shots and transfer them from one file to the other? How can we use the “Drop It to Me” tool?

4 PROJECT 1 OBJECTIVES: Ambassadors will: Day 1: Write two paragraphs (5-6 sentences each) describing who they are and why did they choose OWMS as a middle school. Day 2 & 3: type their paragraphs using Microsoft Word, and save them on their flashdrives. Day 4: be able to create an individual “Wordle” using Wordle.net, creating a screen shot and saving the screen shot on Microsoft Word. Day 5: submit their work to the teacher using “Drop It to Me” tool on the class webpage. Day 6: present their wordles to the class.

(Make sure to introduce yourself, tell us: your age, your elementary school, your likes, dislikes, hobbies etc.) Why did I choose OWMS as my middle school? Wordle: is a way for generating “word clouds” from text that you provide. The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text. You can tweak your clouds with different fonts, layouts, and color schemes.

NOISE LEVEL 1 (YOU CAN HELP EACH OTHER WITHIN YOUR GROUP) Each ambassador will: Open the MICROSOFT WORD FILE where the two paragraphs are typed and saved. (LEAVE THE FILE OPEN) Highlight and Copy (hold Control +C) both paragraphs Go to Internet Explorer and open Wordle.net Paste (hold Control + V) Personalize the Wordle (Change font, layout, color)

17 Project “Wordle”: Day 3 INDEPENDENT WORK (20 Minutes)
NOISE LEVEL 1 (YOU CAN HELP EACH OTHER WITHIN YOUR GROUP) Create and personalize your own Wordle. When completed: Click on to view your Wordle. Click on your keyboard. Click Ctrl + V to paste your Wordle onto the Microsoft file where you typed your paragraphs. Re-Save your work on your flash drive.
