Let me introduce myself…
I’m Miss Faux! September 2015 will be the start of my fifth year teaching here at Manor Way and my third year teaching class R.

Preparing your child for school…
Try and attend all of the sessions organised by school Read stories about starting school Try to encourage your child to complete these tasks independently: Dress and undress Use a pencil and scissors Use the toilet and wash their hands Use a knife and fork Communicate their needs Play and share with others Recognise their name Remember all children develop at different rates, don’t worry!!

Learning through play Emphasis on play and practical activities, making learning fun! Indoor areas – writing area, creative area, dressing up area, maths area, sand and the book area! Outdoor area – garden, bikes, climbing equipment, mud kitchen, water play… under construction!

Reading in EYFS Labelled reading bag – reading/discussion book and reading record. Reading books will be sent home containing the sounds that the children are learning in class. Books are changed twice a week. Phonics happens every day in class R – teacher led sessions 4 times a week.

Lunchtime and snack time
Lunch time – 12pm-1pm Children are escorted down to the dinner hall by lunch time supervisors. Autumn term children are walked back to class by play ground pals. Packed lunches are placed underneath your child's coat peg in the classroom and returned after lunch. Snack time – throughout the day Fruit and milk are provided free. Toast is 20p per day (pay each day or start of the week)
