Context: Ageing Better ‘Hub Model’ Ageing Better Hubs: responsible for promoting, developing and supporting Ageing Better Networks and related activity. Ageing Better Networks Groups of people working together Hubs providing advice and guidance Offer practical local support and / or new activities and services Funding available

Context: Ageing Better ‘Hub Model’ Organisations will be commissioned through an open and transparent procurement process to provide this function and will fall into three categories: 1) City wide Hub 2) Four priority area Hubs: Older LGBT community, older carers, outer-city Tyburn, inner city Sparkbrook 3) 25 Mini Ageing Better Hubs

Overview: Mini Ageing Better Hubs Community based organisations – using existing networks within communities. Initial community engagement Getting the message about Ageing Better in Birmingham and the Ageing Better Network idea out to communities and finding out what people would like to see happening through networks. Act as promoters of Ageing Better in Birmingham and to generate interest amongst Local residents in Birmingham and within our priority areas.

Overview: Mini Ageing Better Hubs Feedback from our ‘experts’: Mini Hubs Inclusive and accessible Positive activities e.g. Crafts, parties Strong networks Finding out what people want Visible and good knowledge of local community Good atmosphere with a positive attitude

Overview: Mini Ageing Better Hubs We will use feedback from our ‘experts’ about what they would like to see. Telling us what you would like to do or could do to achieve our goals for Mini Hubs. Draw on the strengths and knowledge of organisations in communities.

Overview: Mini Ageing Better Hubs Looking to work with 25 Mini Ageing Better Hubs over the first year of the project. First phase of delivery to prepare for future delivery of City-Wide and Priority area Hubs. ‘Light Touch’ monitoring requirements Awarding contracts of £2,000 including VAT for each Mini Hub, including development, management and overheads.

Overview: Mini Ageing Better Hubs Test and learn approach: Mini Ageing Better Hubs will be let in 3 tranches across the first year of delivery. Reflect and develop best practice. First tranche: Procurement of 10 Mini Ageing Better Hubs.

Procurement: Mini Ageing Better Hubs Provisional timetable: We will be issuing a Request for Quotation for the first tranche in late June/early July. This process will be managed via the in-tend system - suppler e-tendering portal. This is our online system for procurement. Organisations can download Request for Quotation document when available, for the first phase. Please read through the Request for Quotation document carefully, including the required response. Responses to the Request for Quotation are to be submitted through in-tend. Any questions in regards to this piece of work must communicated through the in-tend system and not BVSC members of staff when this process has started.
