* Invention of tools, Mastery over fire, development of language. Paleolithic Age * Lasted from 2.5 million to 8000BC *Oldest stone tools date back to this era. Neolithic Age *Lasted from 8000BC to 3000BC * Learned to polish tools, make pottery, grow crops, and raise animals. What can we conclude happened from the Stone Age to Neolithic Age?

Stages in time cont. The Human race has advanced technologically from the beginning. Atari – Xbox 360 TV- basic stations, NBC etc. Now 100’s of stations. Typewriters- Computers, can talk to the computer and have it type it out for you.

Technology Technology- Ways of applying knowledge, tools, and inventions to meet peoples needs. Tries to make life easier. EX. On technology Nuclear Intelligence vs. Operation Star Wars Positives Negatives

Using Map Tools Legend- Shows at a glance what each color or symbol represents. Compass- Shows directions of the map, N,S,E,W. Scale- Represents how much actual distance is represented on the map. Pg. 10- Where are these three components.

Early Human Migration 1,600,000-10,000 BC
Analyze the map on pg. 10 To what continents did early humans migrate to? Why didn’t they migrate to other areas? What does the migration route reveal about early humans?
