Twelve Points that Show Christianity is True
1. Truth about reality is knowable. 2. The opposite of true is false. 3. It is true that the theistic God exists. 4. If God exists then miracles are possible. 5. Miracles can be used to confirm a message from God. 6. The New Testament is historically reliable. 7. The New Testament says Jesus claimed to be God. 8. Jesus’ claim to be God was miraculously confirmed by: a. His fulfillment of many prophecies about Himself; b. His sinless and miraculous life; c. His prediction and accomplishment of His resurrection 9. Therefore, Jesus is God. 10. Whatever Jesus (who is God) teaches is true. 11. Jesus taught that the Bible is the Word of God. 12. Therefore, it is true that the Bible is the Word of God (and anything opposed to it is false).

All roads lead to heaven All the sincere will be saved
Religious Pluralism …is the belief that: All religions are true All roads lead to heaven All the sincere will be saved
4
On the Roads Again “I believe all roads lead to the same place. We’re taking different ways to get there, but we all end up in the same place. It’s kind of like Kinky Friedman’s statement, ‘May the God of your choice bless you.’ That’s the main thoughts that I have about life” (Time 8/7/06, p. 6).
5
Oprah Winfrey’s Pluralism
“I am a Christian who believes that there are certainly many more paths to God other than Christianity.”
6
Eckhart Tolle: All Religions are the Same
“…Due [in part] to an influx of the ancient Eastern wisdom teachings, a growing number of followers of traditional religions are able to let go of identification with form, dogma, and rigid belief systems and discover the original depth that is hidden within their own spiritual tradition at the same time as they discover the depth within themselves…” (A New Earth, 18).

11
Outline I. What is truth?
12
What is Truth?
13
What is Truth? Truth is what: Corresponds to the facts
14
What is Truth? Truth is what: Corresponds to the facts Matches its object
15
What is Truth? Truth is what: Corresponds to the facts Matches its object Tells it like it is
16
A true statement matches its object
“This object is a table.”
17
What is False? False is what does not: -Correspond to the facts Match its object -Tell it like it is
18
The Opposite of True is False
(The Law of Non-Contradiction) The Law of Noncontradiction = First Principle of All Knowledge It Is As Elementary As: In / Out - Opposites Big / Small - Opposites Up / Down - Opposites Back / Forth- Opposites True / False- Opposites Two Examples: Call PEF - meet student w/ problem! Princeton Senior - Philosophy Major The law is false - No you believe it’s true! Krakov Professor (Anxious!!!) Very narrow minded - Western logic = Aristotelian limited - You need to learn about Eastern logic Okay explain it to me! Opposite ideas cannot both be true at the same time and in the same sense. The Earth is Round The Earth is NOT Round
19
The Opposite of True is False
Sure-Fire Way to Convince a Skeptic! “Anyone who denies the law of non-contradiction should be beaten and burned until he admits that to be beaten is not the same as not to be beaten, and to be burned is not the same as not to be burned.” (Avicenna, Great Muslim Philosopher)
20
A Self-Defeating Argument!
Aim at Something Else and Hit Yourself!
21
Answering Objections to Objective Truth: Apply the claim to itself!
Examples . . .
22
A Self-Defeating Statement
“I can’t speak a word in English.” “Didn’t he say that in English?”
23
A Self-Defeating Statement
“Truth is not telling like it is!” “Isn’t that telling it like it is?”
24
A Self-Defeating Statement
“Opposite can both be true.” “Is the opposite of that true?”
25
A Self-Defeating Statement
“There is no truth.” “Is that true?”
26
A Self-Defeating Statement
“You can’t know truth.” “How do you know that is true?”
27
A Self-Defeating Statement
“There is no absolute truth!” “Is that absolutely true?”
28
A Self-Defeating Statement
“It’s true for you but not for me!” “Is that just true for you but not for me?”
29
A Self-Defeating Statement
“No one knows the truth!” “Then how do you know that is true?”
30
A Self-Defeating Statement
“Truth about God isn’t objective!” “Is that an objective truth about God ?”
31
The Truth About Truth All truth claims are absolute, narrow and exclusive. (Even the claim that “Every religion is true” excludes its opposite.)
32
The Truth About Truth 2. Truth is discovered, not invented. It exists independently of anyone’s knowledge of it. (Gravity existed prior to Newton.)
33
The Truth About Truth 3. Beliefs can not change a fact, no matter how sincerely they are held. (I can sincerely believe the world is flat but that only makes me sincerely wrong.)
34
The Truth About Truth 3. Beliefs can not change a fact, no matter how sincerely they are held. (I can sincerely believe the world is flat but that only makes me sincerely wrong.) 4. Truth is trans-cultural (2+2=4 here, there, and everywhere).
35
The Truth About Truth 5. Being raised in a given culture doesn’t make their beliefs true.
36
The Truth About Truth 5. Being raised in a given culture doesn’t make their beliefs true. a) Being raised a Nazi doesn’t make Nazism true.
37
The Truth About Truth 5. Being raised in a given culture doesn’t make their beliefs true. a) Being raised a Nazi doesn’t make Nazism true. b) Being raised a racist does make racism true.
38
The Truth About Truth 5. Being raised in a given culture doesn’t make their beliefs true. a) Being raised a Nazi doesn’t make Nazism true. b) Being raised a racist does make racism true. c) Being raised a bigot does not make bigotry true.
39
The Truth About Truth 6. One’s Attitude Doesn’t Change the Truth
a) A bad attitude about truth does not make it an error. b) A good attitude about error does not make it true.
40
The Truth About Truth 7. Objective Truth Can’t be Denied
The denial of objective truth makes a claim to be an objective truth. The claim that “There is no objective truth” is an objective truth claim.
41
Summary The Truth About Truth
1. Contrary beliefs are possible, but contrary truths are not possible. 2. You can believe everything is true, but everything can’t be true. 3. Objective truth can’t be denied without being affirmed.
42
In Banking Truth is Absolute
“It doesn’t matter what the Bank says is in my account, but it is how much I feel should be there that counts.”
43
Medicine Demands Absolute Truth
“It doesn’t matter whether the Doctor gives you poison or not as long as you feel good about it”!
44
Legal Oath Demands Absolute Truth
“I swear to tell the expedient, the whole expedient, and nothing but the expedient, so help me future experience”!
45
Truth is Absolute in Religion
The claim that “Religious truth is subjective” is not a subjective truth claim about religion. The claim that “Religious truth is not objective” claims to be an objective truth about religion.
46

Except the one with his eyes open to the truth!
No! They are All Wrong Except the one with his eyes open to the truth! The truth is absolute: This is an elephant!
50
All Religions Can’t Be True: They Teach Opposites
Islam with Christianity Let’s contrast:
51
ISLAM CHRISTIANITY GOD: Only one person GOD: 3 persons in one God
HUMANITY: Good by nature HUMANITY: Sinful by nature JESUS: Merely a man, not God. JESUS: More than a man; He was also God. DEATH OF CHRIST: He didn’t die or rise again DEATH OF CHRIST: He died and rose again in same body BIBLE: Corrupted BIBLE: Not corrupted SALVATION: By faith plus works when good deeds outweigh bad ones SALVATION: Not by works but is a free gift of God for all who believe
52
But Don’t They Have Things in Common?
Yes. So Do a Counterfeit and a Genuine $20 Bill. 1) Both are paper. 2) Both are rectangular. 3) Both have a “20” on them. But one is a counterfeit!
53
How to Tell a Counterfeit. Not by superficial similarities
How to Tell a Counterfeit Not by superficial similarities But by crucial differences
54
Can All Religions Be True?
Summary Can All Religions Be True? Can all religions be true: No, they teach opposites! And opposites can’t both be true. Can one religion be true: Yes, if we take off our blinders and see which religion corresponds to reality. Do other religions have some truth? Yes, but since the opposite of true is false, if one religion’s claims are true, then all opposing claims in other religions are false.
55
Outline I. What is truth? II. Can all religions be true?
III. Is there only one way?
56
Is There Really Only ?
57
Is There Only One Way? Christianity says “yes” because:
Jesus Claimed It Jesus Proved It
58
Jesus Claimed It John 14:6 “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 10:1,9 “I tell you the truth, the man who does not enter the sheep pen by the gate, but climbs in by some other way, is a thief and a robber…. I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved.”
59
His Disciples Affirmed It
Acts 4:12 “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.” 1Tim 2:5 “For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus….”
60
Jesus Proved It By: No other religious leader did this!

Jesus Proved It By: His Fulfillment of Prophecies
His Sinless and Miraculous Life
65
Jesus was Sinless
66
A. Jesus said: “Which of you convicts me of sin?” (Jn. 8:46).
B. Those Who Knew Him Best Said: “For we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet was without sin” (Heb. 4:15). “Christ [is] a lamb without blemish or defect” (1 Peter 1:19). “He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth” (1 Peter 2:22). “For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous…” (1 Peter 3:18). “He is righteous” (1 Jn. 2:29). “He is pure” (1 Jn. 3:3). “God made him who had no sin to be sin for us….” (2 Cor. 5:21).
67
C. His Enemies and Others Said:
Judas: “I have sinned by betraying innocent blood” (Mt. 27:4). Pilate: “I am innocent of the blood of this just person” (Mt. 27:24). Pilate’s Wife: “Have nothing to do with that just man…” (Mat. 27:19). A Centurion: “Certainly this was a righteous man” (Lk. 23:47). A Centurion: “Truly this was the Son of God!” (Mt. 27:54). The Thief on the Cross: “This man has done nothing wrong” (Lk. 23:41). The Herodians: “Teacher, we know that you are true, and teach the way of God in truth: nor do you care about anyone, for you do not regard the person of men” (Mt. 22:16).
68
Jesus Proved It By Miracles:
Nicodemus: “Rabbi, we know you are teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that you do unless God is with him” (John. 3:2). Peter: “Jesus of Nazareth, a Man attested by God to you by miracles, wonders, and signs, which God did through Him in your midst, as you yourselves know…” (Acts 2:22).
69
Jesus Proved It By Miracles:
Hebrews 2:3: “God also bearing witness both with signs and wonders, with various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit according to His will..”
70
Jesus Proved It By: Walking on Water Multiplying Loaves

71
Jesus Proved It By: His Fulfillment of Prophecies
His Sinless and Miraculous Life His Death and Resurrection
72
Evidence Jesus Really Died
Nature of his wounds (whipping, crucifixion, and spear in side) ensured death. His mother, friends and closest disciple witnessed his death. Romans, who were professional executioners, pronounced him dead.
73
Evidence Jesus Really Died
Pilate double-checked to make sure Jesus was dead. The Jews never denied the account of Jesus being buried in the tomb of Joseph of Arimathea (a member of the Sanhedrin).
74
Evidence Jesus Really Died
Non-Christian writers from the first and second centuries recorded the death of Jesus (e.g. Josephus, Tacitus, Thallus, Lucian, Phelgon, The Jewish Talmud.) In light of the historical evidence, modern medical authorities have verified his death.
75
Journal of American Medical Ass’n
“Clearly, the weight of historical and medical evidence indicates that Jesus was dead before the wound to his side was inflicted and supports the traditional view that the spear, thrust between his right rib, probably perforated not only the right lung but also the pericardium and heart and thereby ensured his death. Accordingly, interpretations based on the assumption that Jesus did not die on the cross appear to be at odds with modern medical knowledge.” (March 21,1986, p. 1463).
76
Evidence Jesus Actually Rose
77
Evidence Jesus Actually Rose
The Jews admitted the tomb was empty and no one could produce the body. Jesus made 12 different physical appearances over 40 days to over 500 people. Many Jewish priests were converted (Acts 6:7, cf. Acts 15:5) and thousands of unbelievers were converted (Acts 2:41).
78
Evidence Jesus Actually Rose
Jesus’ unbelieving brother James, and Saul, an ardent opponent of Christianity, were converted. Scared, scattered, skeptical disciples were transformed into the world’s greatest missionary martyrs overnight.
79
Conclusion Is There Only One Way?
Yes! Because Jesus claimed to be the only way, and He proved it in three miraculous ways. So, He is the only way to God.
80
is Jesus the Only Way? Because:
God’s unchanging justice must be satisfied. And sinful man can’t satisfy it. Only the perfect God-man can satisfy it.
81
Why is Jesus the Only Way?
Because: God’s unchanging justice must be satisfied. And sinful man can’t satisfy it. Only the perfect God-man can satisfy it.
82
Why is Jesus the Only Way?
Because: God’s unchanging justice must be satisfied. And sinful man can’t satisfy it. Only the perfect God-man can satisfy it.
83
Why is Jesus the Only Way?
God Man Because only the God-Man can bridge between God and Man
84
What About Those Who Are Sincere?
Sincerity is not a test for truth. You can be sincerely wrong (Prov. 14:12). Sincere Belief: “This ship is unsinkable!”
85
What About Those Who’ve Never Heard?
We know that God is loving and wants everyone to be saved. 1 Tim 2:4: “This is good and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and come to a knowledge of the truth.” 2 Pet 3:9: “The Lord is…patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”
86
What About Those Who’ve Never Heard?
3. Everyone has heard there is a Creator God. Psalm 19:1-3: “The heavens proclaim the glory of God, and the firmament shows His handiwork…. There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard” Romans 1:19: “For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities…have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made….”
87
What About Those Who’ve Never Heard?
4. Those who reject the light they have are without excuse. Romans 1:19: “For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities…have been clearly seen…so that they are without excuse.” Romans 2:12-15: “All who sin apart from the Law will also perish apart from the law…since they show the requirements of the law written on their heats….”
88
What About Those Who’ve Never Heard?
5. Those who seek the light (of creation) they have, get the light (of redemption) they need. Acts 10:34-35: “God shows no partiality. But in every nation whoever fears him and works righteousness is accepted with him.” Heb. 11:6: “Anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.”
89
Outline I. What is truth? II. Can all religions be true?
III. Is there only one way? IV. Is There truth in other religions?
90
A. It Does Not mean that: 1. There is no truth outside the Bible.
2. There is no truth in other religions.
91
1. The Bible cites truth outside itself
Old Testament References 1) The Book of Jasher (Josh. 10:13): “The sun stood still, and the moon stopped…. Is this not written in the Book of Jashar?” 2) The Chronicles of Samuel, Nathan, and Gad the Seer (1 Chrn. 29:29): “Now the acts of king David…are written in the Chronicles of Samuel the Seer, and in the Chronicles of Nathan the Prophet, and in the Chronicles of Gad the Seer.” 3) General Revelation in nature (Psa. 19): “The heavens declare the glory of God and the firmament shows His handiwork.”
92
New Testament References
1) Words of Jesus not in the Gospels. Acts 20:35: Jesus said, “It is more blessed to give than to receive” (this is nowhere in the four Gospels). Jn. 21:25: “Now there were many others things that Jesus did. Were every one of them to be written, I suppose that the world itself could not contain the books that would be written” (cf. 20:31).
93
1. The Bible cites truth outside itself
New Testament References 1) Words of Jesus not in the Gospels. 2) The Book of Enoch Jude 14-15: “Behold, the Lord came with ten thousand of his holy ones, to execute judgment on all and to convict all the ungodly of all their deeds of ungodliness that they have committed in such an ungodly way….”
94
1. The Bible cites truth outside itself
Old Testament References b. New Testament References 1) Words of Jesus not in Gospels ) The Book of Enoch 3) Aratus, Phainomena Acts 17:28b: “For we are indeed his [God’s] offspring.”
95
4) Epimenides of Crete Titus 1:12: “One of the Cretans, a prophet of their own, said, ‘Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons.’” Acts 17:28a: “In him [God] we live and move and have our being.” 4) Meander, Thais 1 Cor. 15:33: “Bad company ruins good morals.”
96
c. There are Many truths outside the Bible
1. From the physical sciences 2. From mathematics 3. From the social sciences 4. From history 5. From personal experiences
97
It Does Not mean that: A. There is no truth outside the Bible. 1. The Bible cites truth outside itself. 2. The Bible says there is truth outside itself. Note: Sola Scriptura (The Bible alone) does not mean: a) The Bible is our only source of truth, but— b) It is the only (1) written source of (2) infallible truth from God.
98
2. The Bible says there is truth outside itself.
a. Psa. 19:1: “The heavens declare the glory of God and the firmament shows His handiwork.” b. Acts 14:17: “He did not leave himself without witness, for he did good and gave you from heaven rains and fruitful seasons….” c. Acts 17:24-28: “The God who made the world and everything in it… gives to all men life and breath and everything…is not far from each one of us.”
99
d. Rom. 1:20: “His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead.” e. Rom. 2:14-15: “When Gentiles who have not the law [of Moses] do by nature what the law requires…they show that what the law requires is written on their hearts….”
100
It Does Not mean that: A. There is no truth outside the Bible. B. There is no truth in other religions.
101
1. Moral truths in other religions.
C. S. Lewis demonstrates this in The Abolition of Man which affirms: “This thing which I have called for convenience the Tao, and which others may call Natural Law, is not one among a series of possible systems of value. It is the sole source of all value judgments. If it is rejected, all value is rejected the effort to refute it and raise a new system of value in its place is self-contradictory.”
102
Moral Truths in Other Religions
C. S. Lewis has an excellent Appendix in his book which culls from many of the great non-Christian cultures of the world moral principles that are very much like those in the Ten Commandments.
103
Sample of Moral Similarities
“I have not slain men” (Ancient Egyptian). “Utter not a word by which anyone could be wounded” (Hindu). “Men were brought into existence…that they might do one another good” (Roman). “He whose heart is in the smallest degree set upon goodness will dislike no one” (Ancient Chinese). He “who mediates oppression, his dwelling is overturned” (Babylonian). “Natural affection is a thing right and according to Nature” (Greek). “I saw in Nastrond [=Hell]…beguilers of others’ wives” (Old Norse). “If a native made a ‘find’ of any kind and marked it, it was thereafter safe for him…no matter how long he left it” (Australian Aborigines).
104
Confucius Say… Confucius had what has been called the negative Golden Rule: it says, “Do not do to others what you would not have them do to you.” This complements what Jesus said in Matt. 7:12: “Whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them.”
105
2. Theological truths in other. religions (compatible with
2. Theological truths in other religions (compatible with Christianity). The Theistic God exists—Judaism, Islam, and pre-literate Religions Humans have a soul—Most religions Immortality (life after death)—Most religions Resurrection---Several religions Basic Moral Laws---Most religions “Prayer” (meditation) to God—Most religions
106
2. Theological Truths in Other Religions
John Mbiti showed that even so-called “Pagan” African Religions have a concept of a “High God” or “Sky God” that is theistic.
107
Ebla Tablets: A Theistic God
One of the earliest records we have, the Ebla Tablets from Syria, affirm a theistic God created the world out of nothing (ex nihilo): “Lord, of heaven and earth: the earth was not, you created it, the morning light you had not [yet] made exist” (Ebla Archives, 259).
108
Wilhelm Schmidt ( ) Australian (German born) anthropologist who wrote The Origin of the Idea of God ( ), a twelve volume set that shows monotheism was the first religion from which other religions are corruptions.
109
Frazer’s Golden Bough Fallacy
Frazer’s false evolutionary view is that religion evolved from Magic to Animism to Polytheism to Henotheism to Monotheism.
110
Frazer’s Golden Bough Revised
1. It is contrary to fact (see above). 2. It has a fallacious evolutionary basis. 3. It manipulates the facts to fit its theory. 4. Theodore Gaster’s revision of the book admits Frazer was wrong, saying: “that the two things [magic and religion] stand in genealogical succession…has now been shown to be a mere product of late nineteenth century evolutionism, without adequate basis” (Frazer, The New Golden Bough, xv-xvi).
111
B. It Does Means That: 1. Everything taught in the Bible is true. 2. Nothing opposed to what is taught in the Bible is true. 3. Christianity is the true religion.
112
1. Everything taught in the Bible is true
1-8 (above) 9. Jesus is God. 10. Whatever Jesus (who is God) teaches is true. 11. Jesus taught that the Bible is the Word of God. 12. Therefore, it is true that the Bible is the Word of God (and anything opposed is false).
113
2. Nothing opposed to what is taught in the Bible is True.
Truth is what corresponds to reality (This is undeniable). Falsehood is what does not correspond to reality Note: The assertion that “Truth does not correspond to reality” is a statement that claims to correspond to reality.
114
A Self-Defeating Statement
“Truth is not telling like it is!” “Isn’t that telling it like it is?”
115
B. Nothing opposed to what is taught in the Bible is True.
1. Truth is what corresponds to reality (# 1)—This is undeniable. 2. False is what does not correspond to reality (#2)—This is undeniable. Note: The opposite of true is false. This is based on the undeniable Law of Non-contradiction.
116
B. Nothing opposed to what is taught in the Bible is True.
a. Truth is what corresponds to reality (# 1)—This is undeniable. b. False is what does not correspond to reality (#2)— This is undeniable. c. Hence, if the doctrines of Christianity are true, then whatever opposes them is false—This is undeniable.
117
C. Christianity is the true religion.
Everything it teaches is true. Its teachings are superior. What it teaches is sufficient for faith and practice. 4. Of all human beings, Christ alone is God. 5. Christ is the only way to God.
118
1. Everything it teaches is true.
Psa. 119:160: “The sum of your word is truth….” Mt. 22:29: “You err because you do not know the Scriptures….” Jn. 17:17: “Your word is truth.” Rom. 2:2: “The judgment of God is according to truth.” Rom. 3:4: “Let God be true and every man a liar.” 2 Tim. 2:15: “Study to show yourself approved unto God…rightly handling the word of truth.”
119
2. Its teachings are superior.
a. They are the highest teaching known to man. b. They are the most comprehensive teachings known. c. They are the most widespread teaching in the world (the Bible is the all-time best seller). d. They are the most enduring teaching (withstanding the test of time).
120
3. What it teaches is sufficient for faith and practice.
2 Tim. 3:16-17: “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work. Rev. 22:19: “I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book. If anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book [the last NT book written by the last NT apostle].
121
4. Of all human beings, Christ alone is God.
Jesus claimed to be God (#7) by— 1) Claiming the names of God 2) Claiming to be worshipped as God 3) Claiming to be the object of prayer as God 4) Claiming equality with God 5) Claiming eternal glory with God 6) Claiming His words were on a par with God’s b. Jesus proved to be God by— 1) Fulfilling miraculous predictions 2) Living a miraculous life 3) Achieving a miraculous resurrection
122
5. Christ is the only way to God.
Jn. 14:6: “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except by me.” Jn. 10:1, 9: “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door but climbs in another way is a thief and a robber…. I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved.” Jn. 8:24: “For unless you believe that I am he [the Messiah] you will die in your sins.” Jn. 3:18: “Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” Acts 4:12: “Neither is there salvation in anyone else, for there is no other name under heaven, given among men, whereby we must be saved.” 1 Tim. 2:5: “There is one God and one mediator between God and Man, the Man Christ Jesus.”

Guru Sai Baba Exposed Claimed to be God on earth
124
Tal Brooke Exposed Sai Baba
“From their first meeting, Brooke was heralded by Sai Baba, India's greatest miracle-working godman, as the inner-circle disciple who…would help trigger the explosion of India's ancient mystical tradition into the Western world…. Brooke was becoming a captive soul of an ancient inner transformation, while Baba's outward divinity concealed a timeless, demonic presence. After two years of surrender to a Being who claimed to be God on earth, something remarkable happened…. Brooke was rescued from above…. Brooke lays bare the powerful reality of good and evil and of things beyond the familiar realm of the senses, in a book that will not be easily forgotten.” Tal Brooke

“I knew that Jesus wasn’t just another one of several million gods. He was in fact the God for whom I had hungered. I had met Jesus himself and discovered that he himself was the Creator. Yet he loved me enough to become a man for may sake and to die for my sins. With that realization, tons of darkness seemed to lift and a brilliant light flooded my soul” (p. 137).
