Registration & Application You must complete both: Registration with e-services Gives access to e-services products Application Process Provides access to on-line products for a firm or organization

e-Services Registration Step 1 - Complete the e-services Registration Form You will need: Name Social Security Number Date of Birth The Adjusted Gross Income from either of the last two years' tax return (1040, 1040A, etc.)

e-Services Registration Step 2 - Receive a Confirmation Code from e-services A string of letters and numbers received in a letter through the U.S. mail. Step 3 - Confirm Your Registration If you do not complete this step, your registration is not complete and your password will expire. You will also create a Username, Password, Personal Identification Number (PIN) and a private, personal fact that you may use later to retrieve a forgotten Username

Application You will need the following : Your campus’ legal name, address, and phone number Your campus’ Employer Identification Number (EIN) The physical address of your campus which will be performing TIN Matching The names, SSNs and phone numbers of the authorized users within your organization The Personal Identification Number (PIN) you selected during the initial registration process

Submitting Requests Interactive Submit up to 25 name/TIN combinations on-line Up to 999 combinations per day Response in real time (normally about five seconds) Bulk Submit a text file with up to 100,000 name/number combinations per submission Receive a response to a secure mailbox within 24 hours

Response Codes 0 – Match 1 – Missing or incorrect TIN 2 – TIN not currently issued 3 – Does not match 4 – Invalid request 5 – Duplicate request 6, 7, 8 – TIN type unknown, but matches SSN or EIN records, or both

Customer Service The TIN Matching system is accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Support services include on-line tutorials to assist customers with the registration, application and TIN Matching process.on-line tutorials You do not need to be a registered user to access and view these tutorials. Customer assistance is also available toll-free at 1-866-255-0654, 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., EST, Monday through Friday.
