Resources are only occupied for the duration of transmission. GPRS/EDGE use existing GSM infrastructure GPRS/EDGE is a technology for packet oriented data communication (IP) GPRS/EDGE is global and area wide packet-switching data Combined voice and GPRS/EDGE data channel Dedicated GPRS/EDGE data channel GPRS/EDGE Session 1 GPRS/EDGE Session 2

Single RNS‘s can be cuts into Location Areas (LA) MSC, SGSN and GGSN are core components of GSM/GPRS 2G network and are used by the UMTS 3G network.

How do we avoid meter reading mistakes? Can we assure save and protected meter reading, protection against fraud? Is it possible control and manage meter and modem remotely, without regular visits?

Is it possible to read all meters (e,g,w, ACs, heating, etc.), to connect also the home automation or displays? Can we get open standard and interoperable solutions?
