Phone print and broadcast reporters with tips and information ◦ Helps build relationships ◦ Builds awareness of upcoming events or agenda items ◦ Look for national and local news pegs to build upon Prepare your own press releases Don’t have to be complicated, include photos if possible Research email addresses or get them from your Clerk If releases aren’t included in print or on air, often posted online Submit op-ed pieces
