Importance of Anchors Determining Necessary Load Capacities Types of Anchors Determining Holding Capacity of Soil Types Choosing Anchors Overview Tower Anchoring
2
Anchors must be used to anchor the winch or griphoist when raising a tilt-up tower Anchors support both tilt-up guyed and freestanding guyed towers as the ground point of contact for the guy lines Importance of Anchors Anchor Side Anchor Back Anchor Side Anchor Gin Pole Anchor Front Anchor

Arrowhead Installation
6
Arrowhead Installation Equipment Needed
7
Arrowhead Anchor Installation Arrowhead is placed onto the reusable drive rod Hammer the arrowhead into the ground at a 45˚ angle Anchor should be driven into the ground until only a couple inches of the cable end remains
8
Setting the Arrowhead Anchor Once anchor is at correct depth, retrieve the drive rod Using the drive rod for leverage, pull on the anchor until you feel it give Anchor is now set and ready to be attached to guy lines Multiple arrowheads are typically installed per guy line anchor point to ensure non-failure
9
Auger Type Anchors
10
Auger Anchor Installation Begin spinning the auger at a 90˚ angle to the ground (straight down) After three or four rotations turn the auger and install at a 45˚ angle with the handle facing the tower location Rotate auger until less than 6 inches of the anchor handle is visible Use a lever and pull on anchor to ensure that it does not move
