Student Achievement Findings We have strong curricula in the areas of mathematics, science, and social studies. Our Language Arts and Foreign Language curricula need to be strengthened. Our average performance is below the state average in reading and mathematics. World-class Excellence for Student Learning

Student Achievement Findings An achievement gap exists between students based upon socio-economic status and race. We do not have reliable data to monitor students’ reading and mathematics achievement. Teachers cannot easily access students’ performance data World-class Excellence for Student Learning

Organizational Capacity Findings We currently do not have a structure to develop teacher leaders or administrative leaders. Training for teachers and administrative leaders has not been job-embedded. World-class Excellence for Student Learning

Organizational Capacity Findings Our curricular offerings are limited due to reduced enrollment. At the elementary level, enrollment is imbalanced. World-class Excellence for Student Learning

Community Engagement Findings The school district does not have structures in place to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. Greater emphasis should be placed on proactively engaging parents and understanding their concerns. Parents and the community have had little input in programming changes. Community Engagement Findings There is a perception that schools need to work on safety issues. There is a concern that our athletic programs are not as strong as they have been historically. World-class Excellence for Student Learning

Financial Findings The school district is on solid financial ground. The district relies heavily on federal and state funding to operate programs. There are limited local funds available to expand programs.

Student Achievement Next Steps Implement a new Pre-K through 5 reading program Enhance the honors ELA program at the middle school and high school Identify and purchase stronger secondary ELA curricula and Foreign Language curricula
