YOU MIGHT WANT TO CREATE SOMETHING THAT WILL SELL IN THE GROWING GROUNDS STORE. THERE WILL BE A COMPETITION FOR THE BEST PIECE AND A SMALL PRIZE FOR THE WINNER. 7. Reference Material We will be using Microsoft Publisher 2010 Introductory by Shelly and Starks as a class text book. There is a reference copy in your Computer LabMicrosoft Publisher 2010 Introductory Microsoft Office 2010 for Dummies by Wallace Wang contains simplified help for Access,Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word and is also in the lab. A way of getting help is to go into Google and put in key words describing your problem and see what Google can find in the way of solutions to your problem which most probably other people have experienced before you.Google

14. Open up Publisher To get into Publisher, click on the Start button in the lower left corner of the screen, the Start menu should appear. In the box with Search Programs and Files, type in Publisher. Windows then searches for file names containing the word Publisher. The Publisher Icon labelled Microsoft Publisher 2010 should appear at the top of the list. Click on the Publisher Icon and the Microsoft Publisher will appear.  Or you can follow the instructions on PUB 1 5 of Microsoft Publisher 2010 Introductory.

15. Start your creating your piece of art The project for this class is to design something you like. There will be a competition for the best flyer and a small prize will be awarded by your recovery center manager for the piece she deems best, You can start from a blank sheet  Or you start at page PUB 5 of Microsoft Publisher 2010 Introductory and select a template suitable for your Publisher project and work your way through to page PUB 13 of Microsoft Publisher 2010 Introductory or you can use a template. In the blank search bar in the top right of the display type in a word to get a list of all possible templates you might like. I used the word thank Then click on the magnifying glass and you will get a listing of all relevant templates. There are a lot!!!  Find one you like and click on it. I choose Thank you card (Sun and Sand design, quarter fold). You can choose anyone you would like  Click on Download on the right side bar. Publisher will open up with the start of your artwork.

16. Put a word or two in your artwork Click where you would like to add a word or two Type it in. Check that your display looks something like here. There is a copy of this in your handout.here

17. Print your piece of art. Print out the page by typing in Ctrl-P (Hold down Ctrl key and press P) and then Print Please print your name and date on it and turn it into the instructor by the end of next week.
