Course is about operations control based on management science models and systems approaches. Course materials Most will be posted in Noppa: Presentations, assignments, work done in class, … Noppa also has chapters from the textbook: Applied Mathematical Programming by Bradley, Hax, and Magnanti (Addison-Wesley, 1977) We will also use as reference the book: Practical Management Science, Revised 3rd Edition by Winston, Wayne L., Albright, S. Christian. This is an older edition, the 4 th is the current edition) A pdf is currently available at this site. www.ingenieria-industrial.net/downloads/practicalmanagementscience.pdf Computer and software Students should have a Windows based computer with Excel We will use the computer during class meetings, bring your laptops. This is a fast course, only 6 weeks (11 meetings) At start some “heavy reading”, then lots of problem solving, then “development” Some assignments to be submitted online to hw.geop@gmail.com.
