USA-TVET www.usatvet.org United States Consortium for Export of Technical and Vocational Education and Training 1. To inform U.S. public, private, and non-government providers of career and technical education (CTE) equipment, software, and technical assistance services to the opportunities and importance of exporting these services internationally. 2. To facilitate collaboration amongst CTE providers of different and unique expertise that will lead to greater potential of success. 3. Energy Industry Fundamentals: Provided by the Center for Energy Workforce Development and currently available for no charge. This course is not recognized or validated through the Virginia Department of Education therefore, not offered for credit at this time.

Potential Project-Inspiring the Future of Energy Curriculum Background Sustainability and Renewable Technologies Course (in VERSO) ◦ Existing VA State Approved CTE course ◦ Designed by Cumberland County Public Schools and CTE Resource Center with VA-DOE Support ◦ Course explores issues that affect global citizens in the areas of economics, culture, and the environment. The course introduces students to the historic, economic, political, environmental, and cultural issues that impact the global community and its’ future. Students will address issues affecting the health of our environment and explore solutions offered by sustainable agriculture, energy efficient building design, and renewable energy sources.

Potential Project-Inspiring the Future of Energy Renewable Energy and Green Building Design Currently being piloted as a follow-up course to Sustainability and Renewable Technology by Cumberland County Public Schools and is on track for approval by the Virginia Department of Education in summer of 2012. ◦ Draft Course Description: Renewable Energy and Green Building Design explores the application and fundamentals of green building principles and renewable energies. Students will become familiar with select renewable energy technologies and have hands on experience in their design and function and be introduced to foundations in installation skills. Energy Industry Fundamentals: Provided by the Center for Energy Workforce Development and currently available for no charge. This course is not recognized or validated through the Virginia Department of Education therefore, not offered for credit at this time.
