Requirements for the Alternate Assessment and Accountability Folder (AAAF) have been revised this year. Teachers were provided a training on November 9 that explained the requirements of the AAAF. District Administrators should review the contents of the AAAF as part of the monitoring process. http://www.education.ky.gov/KDE/Administrative+Resource s/Testing+and+Reporting+/District+Support/Kentucky+Alte rnate+Assessment+Program/AAAF.htm http://www.education.ky.gov/KDE/Administrative+Resource s/Testing+and+Reporting+/District+Support/Kentucky+Alte rnate+Assessment+Program/AAAF.htm KDE:OAA:DSR: 2/6/201224

The AAAF will contain the following information: Student Information Teacher Code of Ethics Teacher Certificates Instructional Materials and Work Samples Attainment Task Scores and Additional Supports (if needed) Transition Attainment Record (TAR) Information (Applies only to grades 8, 10 and 11). The AAAF will also serve all monitoring purposes at both the district and state level. KDE:OAA:DSR: 2/6/201225

Distributing materials should be planned to allow BACs to inventory materials, and prepare for teacher distribution. Remind BACs test booklets should not be distributed to proctors until the first day of testing. Test booklets housed in BAC area/classrooms must be behind a double lock. Seating charts are required for both individual and group testing. Room location must be recorded on the SRB. Exemptions and rosters for K-PREP will be done through SDRR. 40 KDE:OAA:DSR: 2/6/2012

There will be no labels but pre-printed student response booklets (SRB). Ensure each teacher receives the appropriate booklets the SRBs are arranged in alphabetical order by students last name, by grade for each school. Shrink wrapped materials may be split between classrooms – DO NOT rearrange booklet order. The student response booklets will be separate from test booklets. Distribute secure test materials to teachers on the first day of testing. 45 KDE:OAA:DSR: 2/6/2012

For all questions regarding test booklet security see the DAC/BAC Manual. 51 Each test booklet has a unique security barcode, located in the upper right corner of the back cover of the test booklet. Using this barcode, test booklets are assigned to specific schools. This provides an accurate means of tracking secure test booklets that are shipped to and returned from the school. K-PREP Test Booklet – Back Cover KDE:OAA:DSR: 2/6/2012
52
Do not use a pre-printed booklet for another student. Do bubble information on a new pre-printed student response booklet. Do not use staples. Do not use post-it notes. Do not use highlighters. The students may underline lightly with pencil. Do write “Void” across the front of the student response booklet with a black marker. 52 KDE:OAA:DSR: 2/6/2012
53
TIME The K-PREP assessments (blended NRT/CRT) are timed tests. Each content area test is divided into multiple parts (i.e., parts A, B and C). Each part is a separate test session. Proctors must stop at the end of each part for a break. Breaks may be short (i.e., stand and stretch) or long (i.e., lunch) with appropriate monitoring. 53 KDE:OAA:DSR: 2/6/2012
54
K-PREP Blueprint 54 Assessments are developed using a blueprint range. This reflects primarily an equal coverage of content subdomains. Blueprint available on KDE website. Enter “K- PREP Blueprint” in search box. Revised (1/20/2012) for On Demand Writing, the following statement added: The ODW blueprint will shift from year-to-year so that all students have an opportunity to write different types of passage-based prompts and non-passage- based prompts. 60
Senate Bill 1 established a five-day test window in the last 14 (instructional) days of a district’s calendar for the 2012 K-PREP. Five-day schedule is a school schedule, not a grade by grade schedule. The levels are elementary, middle and high school. The five days must be consecutive. Any day a regular test session is scheduled is considered a test day, no matter how long or short a session you have scheduled. You cannot count the test days as ½ day on Tuesday and another ½ day on Wednesday. 60 KDE:OAA:DSR: 2/6/2012
61
It is important to schedule start times of sessions to allow time between sessions for extended time (regular time, time and a half and double time) for IEP, 504 Plan or PSP students. The expected time should be adequate for all students. Extended time allowed only for those with accommodations in an IEP, 504 Plan, or PSP. Make arrangements for students who need extended time to have a place to complete the test, so that other students can go back to instructional activities. 61 Be aware of need for accommodations as you create the school test schedule. At the end of the day students with regular and extended time needs to have finished the same parts of the test. KDE:OAA:DSR: 2/6/2012

83 This is where the typed test will go. It will be trimmed around so that it fits completely inside the black box allowed for each test question. The template allows only enough space to complete the question while remaining inside the allowable space. The template can be downloaded from the KDE webpage. Tape must be on the corners of the text being inserted but not covering multiple choice answers, barcodes or timing tracks. Place clear desk tape at least on the four corners of the printed response so the pages are securely in place and will not move around when the booklet is moved, opened, closed, packaged or during shipping. This will ensure proper scoring will occur. KDE:OAA:DSR: 2/6/2012
