Requirement for a Health & Wellbeing Board Health & Social Care Act (2012) & Statutory Instrument – 2013 number: 218 –Each upper tier/unitary local authority –A committee of the local authority –Specified core membership –Responsibilities Integrated working Joint health & wellbeing strategy informed by JSNA

Board Members at least one councillor of the local authority, director of adult social services director of children’s services director of public health representative of the Local Healthwatch a representative of each relevant clinical commissioning group, and such other persons, or representatives of such other persons, as the local authority thinks appropriate.

MAKING A DIFFERENCE The Strategy will focus on supporting: Fewer people die from preventable ill health Reducing health inequalities across Hampshire Improving community based services so that fewer people need costly hospital and long term care

What next? Council Elections May 2 Update HCC constitution to reflect new duties Deliver JHWS, update and informed by updated JSNA Quick wins but also - start to tackle the big issues
