E-PORTFOLIO EVIDENCE WILDCARE
2
CONTEXTUAL STATEMENTS Home Page: The WildCare Trust is a charity which works to protect threatened species, depending on its members for economic funding. The charity offers three forms of membership: Platinum, Gold and Silver; and aspires to open two new options for the next year: WildCare Teens and kids. During this project I had to produce a variety of publications promoting The WildCare Trust and notifying the target audience of what work the charity does. I created a database of endangered species which provided information for the content in the publications I made later on. Having researched membership fees I made a spreadsheet to enable me to calculate the most efficient membership fees for each type of WildCare membership. I produced a Membership Pack – designed to be sent to new WildCare members and I created a three sample database reports, a membership card and a leaflet to be sent inside it. Finally, I had to create a Presentation to promote the WildCare trust, to be shone at schools informing pupils about the work of the charity. The publications I created are displayed below with links to their corresponding pages.

CONTEXTUAL STATEMENTS Project Management: To help me work efficiently through the project I had to plan carefully in order to meet the deadlines. To do this I had to create a plan prior to the start of the project and an on-going plan which would be altered throughout the project to show my progress. I created a project log to record what work I did each lesson and how much progress I made. Throughout the project I also had to create a sources table, keeping track of where I got my information and images from. If my publications were to be published I would know who to get permission for certain images from or who to acknowledge in my work. Below are links to all of the documents I produced in this section.
4
CONTEXTUAL STATEMENTS Database: I had to create a database to store details of endangered species using data provided. The Database would be made available to members, who will be able to download the database and use it to decide which animal they should adopt. I also had to create a Data Entry Form for the user to enter new records to the database, and then, after researching three animals in the same group, I had to add three new records to the database. Below is the links to my database evidence, showing how I created my database and the Data Entry Form, and then links to each draft of my Data Entry Form.
5
CONTEXTUAL STATEMENTS Membership Fees: WildCare needs to set membership fees for next year when there will be two new additional membership options: WildCare Teens (13 – 19 year olds) and WildCare Kids (for under 13s). I had to create the membership fees spreadsheet to allow me to calculate to optimum price for each membership group. The aim was to break even and not make a large profit keeping the membership fees as low as possible so that no members decide not to renew because of increased prices. The links below open up the Presentation showing the process of me making the spreadsheet and the feedback I received from my test buddies during the process, there is a document showing the research I did on membership fees to help me make a good judgement on the WildCare membership fees, there is also the spreadsheet I made and the spreadsheet saved in formula view.
6
CONTEXTUAL STATEMENTS Membership Pack: I had to create a membership pack to be given to every new WildCare Teens Member. It will be given in a card Pack Folder containing: three sample reports, a membership card and a leaflet (with an adoption form). The links below will take you to the corresponding publication pages.
7
CONTEXTUAL STATEMENTS Reports: WildCare Teen Membership Packs I had to create three sample reports to be given to new members, demonstrating what information they could retrieve from the database. The links below will open: the evidence showing the process I went through to develop my reports and the queries which preceded them, and the first and second draft of each report.
8
CONTEXTUAL STATEMENTS Membership Card: I had to design a membership card to be given to all new members, it had to be double sided and fit 8 cards onto a page; it had to include a logo, title, renewal date, an image and contact details for WildCare. The links below will open the Evidence PowerPoint showing how I made the card, the first draft, second draft and the final draft of my membership card.
9
CONTEXTUAL STATEMENTS Leaflet: I had to design a leaflet for the Teens Membership Pack giving the reader information about endangered animals and how to adopt them. It had to be A4 trifold, double sided, show a logo, have a clear title and introduction, inform the reader about the adoption scheme, list details of some of the animals in my database, include pictures and have a tear-off application form. By clicking on the images below, you can open the evidence of how I made the publication, the first draft, second draft and final draft of my leaflet.
10
CONTEXTUAL STATEMENTS Pack Folder: Each new WildCare Teens member would receive an A5 folder containing their sample reports, membership card and leaflet. I had to design this pack folder, ensuring that it works well when folded. The images below will open the evidence of my pack folder – showing the first and second drafts and the final draft the Pack Folder.
11
CONTEXTUAL STATEMENTS Presentation: I had to create a presentation to be used by WildCare staff at a series of events in local schools, promoting the WildCare Trust. My presentation had to have five slides: an introduction, some general facts about endangered species, examples of threats to species, information about the Kids and Teens membership options and a slide showing the membership fees and telling the audience how to get involved. The images below open the evidence of the process of making my Presentation and my final Presentation.
12
CONTEXTUAL STATEMENTS E-Portfolio: I had to create an e-portfolio displaying all of my work it had to have a clear structure, and display all my work – incorporating my corporate identity. The document below is the evidence showing the production of my e-portfolio.
13
CONTEXTUAL STATEMENTS Review: I had to write a review evaluating all aspects of my work throughout the project, focusing on each publication, my performance during the project and my overall project process. The documents hyperlinked below will open the draft and my final review.
14
IMAGES I collected images to be used as buttons, displaying my work for my e-portfolio.
