Study Strategies Common Hour Workshop Presented by the Academic Advising Center

Choose a table leader! Let’s Begin!!!!

Task one: Table leaders open the task 1 envelope and remove the baggie of puzzle pieces. You will use the puzzle frame for this task. Remove the puzzle pieces from the baggie. As a group you will work to complete the puzzle. Points will be awarded for place in completion. You have 3 minutes to complete the task……GO!!! Puzzle Mania

Task two: Table leaders open the Task 2 envelope and take out the cards. Pass the cards out face down, one to each person in the group. Look at your word, (only!!). Each person, in turn, will try to get the group to guess your word by giving one word clues. (like password) When the word is guessed place your card face up and move to the next group member. Score a point for each one guessed correctly. You will have 2 minutes to complete the task……GO!!! Puzzle Mania

Task three: Table leaders open the Task 3 envelope, give each group member a piece of clay. Hand out the folded cards, read your word silently and create the word out of the clay. You will have 1 minute to sculpt… GO!!! The group must now guess your word. Do not use verbal clues with your group. Once the word is guessed open your card and place your sculpture on the card. Score one point for each correct answer You have two minutes to guess the words…GO!!!! Puzzle Mania
