Paperless is defined as: not requiring paper because the use of computers and other electric media to record, convey, and store data (Online Dictionary). A paperless society is where computers and electric media are the primary sources of storing, conveying, and usage of information. Ever since the new millennium began, technology has played a big part in our lives. Since technology has made our fast paced lives even faster, many feel like a paperless society is the move to make. Good way of keeping track of records Business’ can have solid proof of contracts and consensual agreements via signatures. Hospitals can keep patients’ records safe and maintain privacy Also for bills, and other important transactions, a paper hardcopy is efficient. Schools can keep track of students’ as well as staff and faculty records. Teachers can have physical proof of handed in assignments. Professional Use

Staring at a computer screen for a long period of time is unhealthy. The body's system of handling blood sugar becomes less effective, increasing the risk of diabetes. In today’s day and age, paper is being recycled (which is also eco- friendly). It will cost less to replace a hard copy of something via paper compared to information that is lost when a hard drive crashes. Every ton of paper recycled saves more than 3.3 cubic yards of landfill space (Earth 911). More than 37 percent of the fiber used to make new paper products in the United States comes from recycled sources (Earth 911). Cost Efficient If you recycle me, I will save trees so that you can breathe!!

Some people can’t or won’t adjust well to a paperless society. Mainly the elderly will have issues adjusting to technology. How will the blind individuals adapt to this? Or those individuals who are handicapped, how will they adjust to living in a paperless society? Adjustments

All electronic software and hardware needs proper maintenance in order to operate/work properly. It is ALWAYS good to have a physical hard copy in case proof is needed for something. If one wanted to get rid of confidentiality papers, shredding would be the best option. Most of those who want to move to a paperless society are being selfish and are not taking the time to think about other people in society. Conclusion
