5.  The understanding of the chemical breakdown of nutrients in our bodies has led to healthier lifestyles.  The development of antibiotics, the clean combustion of fuel, the innovations in building supplies, and even the non-toxic ingredients used in cleaning supplies are all results of chemistry-based knowledge
