Water just keeps going through the same cycle over and over again The earth doesn’t ever get any new water! The water cycle includes the following steps: 1.EVAPORATION 2. CONDENSATION 3. PRECIPITATION 4. RUNOFF

17. Research You will be using the laptops to work together in your groups to investigate the water cycle and What happens to rain water and water from lakes and rivers?

18. Experiment We will be adding a hydrosphere to the “ biospheres ” we have created. Then, we will be adding two types of water: room temperature water and warm water.

19. Hypothesis Hypothesize what will happen in each of our biospheres.

20. Data Observe what happens in each of our biospheres and record your results in the data section of your packet.

25. Experiment 1.Let Mrs. Roffo know you are ready for the experiment. 2.Students will fill the bowl inside their 1 st biosphere with room temp water. 3. Students will seal the container with plastic wrap and place it on the towel. 4.To ensure safety, Mrs. Roffo will fill the bowl inside the 2 nd biosphere with heated water. Do not leave your group or come near the sink! 5.Mrs. Roffo will seal the container and put the container on a towel in the center of each group. 6.Observe your biospheres for 5-10 minutes. Record your observations in your data. Make sure your data is valid! Do not touch or move the biospheres!

26. Data Observe your biosphere for 5-10 minutes. Write about what you see happening in each of your biospheres. Draw pictures that show what is happening in each of your biospheres.

27. Conclusion Write a Paragraph Use the words and pictures from your data to write a paragraph that explains what happened in each of the containers. Tell why you got the results you did for each container.
