National dermatology figures First appointments - 881,607 (4.2 % of all) All outpatients attendances - 2,738,796 (4.0% of all) 7 th largest O/P referral speciality after General Surgery, T&O, Opht, Gen Med and Gynae. Average cost of referral is £120 15% of all the patients who see a GP, will be seeking help for a skin condition Outpatient referral rate 14.3 per 1,000 patients Nationally 29.2% of OP 1st GP Referrals that do not have an O/P follow-up 3
