3 REGISTRATION Students and parents will review courses, including elective selections and sign the registration sheet Review Course Verification Sheet Select elective course on the registration form, parent signature, and leave with advisory teacher Course Change requests may be left with the advisory teacher Deadline to submit Course Change requests is March 11 th Final course verification sheets will be mailed home with the 3 rd quarter grade reports

7 READINESS RUBRIC A grade-specific Readiness Rubric helps students and their families, teachers and counselors regularly compare data on tests, grade point averages and other indicators to assess and take steps to improve a student's progress toward being college-ready by the end of high school. 14 TARGETED SERVICES Targeted Services There will be a Spring Targeted Services Session April 27-May 14 Monday through Thursday 3:00-4:00pm Bussing is available This session will focus on students that have failed two or more quarters in a Core course throughout the school year Notification forms will be mailed in your 3 rd Quarter Report Cards This will be a required session for students that qualify

15 SUMMER SCHOOL AND GRADE LEVEL RETENTION During the month of April, Ellis counselors and administrators will be meeting with students in jeopardy of failing multiple courses An intervention plan will be discussed with the student and sent home to parents/guardians 7 th and 8 th grade students failing any core course or 7 or more quarters will be required to attend Summer School June 8-25 at Ellis Monday through Thursday 8:00 am to Noon Transportation is not provided Students failing all four core areas (LA, Math, Science, Social Studies) will be grade level retained

16 AUGUST – ACADEMIC ACADEMY Students may enroll in the August Academic Academy as an orientation to the new year Course work will be in the areas of math, language arts and transitional preparation for the school year Students will receive direct and computer based instruction Limited transportation is available

17 PLANNING AHEAD August: District Mass Registration More information will be coming in the mail Orientations August 2015 8 th to 9 th Grade Link Crew activities August 27 th 6 th to 7 th Grade Orientation activities September 2 nd September 2 and 3: Ellis Back to School Open House September 8: First Day of School
