2 Most verbs Remove –ть from the infinitive Add endings as follows: л if the subject is masculine лa if the subject if feminine ло if the subject if neuter ли if the subject if plural Example играть  игра-  я играл(а) ты играл(а) он(а) играл(а) мы играли вы играли они играли A boy would say: я играл I played A girl would say: я играла I played NB вы играли even if вы is one person. Note these verbs: идти (to go): past tense is шёл / шла / шло /шли есть (to eat): past tense is ел / ела / ело / ели

3 PRESENT TENSEPAST TENSENOTES Я рада I’m glad. Я была рада. I was glad. Я в хорошем ресторане. I’m in a good restaurant. Вчера я была в хорошем ресторане. Yesterday I was in a restaurant. Can be used to mean I went to a good restaurant. У меня есть собака. У меня была собака.Dog is subject of the sentence, so the verb is in the feminine form. Мне скучно.Мне было скучно.This is an impersonal construction, so the verb is neuter. Мне 14 лет.Мне было 14 лет.This is an impersonal construction, so the verb is neuter.
