www.ks1resources.co.uk The Celts grew wheat and barley and reared sheep, pigs and cattle. Sheep were kept for their wool which was used to make clothes, although sheep also provided milk for the family. Teams of oxen were used for pulling iron ploughs and heavy wagons. www.ks1resources.co.uk The Romans liked to eat fruit, vegetables, meat, bread and cheese. They cooked with olive oil and used different herbs and spices. We eat many of the foods they ate but not all. Romans also enjoyed food such as swans and snails fattened in milk. Foods that we wouldn’t eat today! !
