Green Lane Masjid Knowing when Arabic words end and another one begins
2
When reading the Quran start off each reading with a deep breath.
Read for as long as you have breath. When you run out of breath stop at the end of a word. If the meaning is not complete or there is none of the following signs are present then with a deep breath go back a few words and continue reading.

Therefore, how do you know when a word begins and another ends?
In Arabic you cannot read part of a word. You must start reading from the beginning of a word and stop at the end of a word. Therefore, how do you know when a word begins and another ends? Here are some simple ways of knowing:
4
يَـٰٓأَيُّہَا ٱلنَّاسُ ٱعۡبُدُواْ رَبَّكُمُ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكُمۡ
Some words will begin with الـ such as: يَـٰٓأَيُّہَا ٱلنَّاسُ ٱعۡبُدُواْ رَبَّكُمُ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكُمۡ ( الـ means the ) Some words will end with an alif with a circle above it, such as وَبَشِّرِ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ ( واْ means the word is past tense, plural, masculine)
5
مِن ثَمَرَةٍ رِّزۡقً۬ا
Some words will end with ـه or ـة . يُضِلُّ بِهِۦ ڪَثِيرً۬ا وَيَهۡدِى بِهِۦ كَثِيرً۬اۚ وَمَا يُضِلُّ بِهِۦۤ مِن ثَمَرَةٍ رِّزۡقً۬ا ( ـه means him or masculine it ـة means it is a feminine word)
6
وَإِن ڪُنتُمۡ فِى رَيۡبٍ۬
If you see a letter that can join another letter but is not joined, then the word has ended. Such as وَإِن ڪُنتُمۡ فِى رَيۡبٍ۬
