4 4 16 terabytes of data stored at CERN Computer Centre – benefiting from economies of scale (100 petabytes at CERN), i.e. UNOSAT share: 1/6000 10 gigabit/second bandwidth Serving maps and data to UN users and Member States IT-support and server hosting Virtual machines in CERN-cloud Computer security Research environment, collaboration Powered by CERN IT

12 Regional and national training in South-East Asia  In 2011, UNOSAT and ADPC have launched a regional initiative to develop the capacity of countries across the Asia and Pacific region  In 2013, UNOSAT teamed with UN ESCAP for further training and capacity development  The partnership focuses on strengthening capacities of national disaster risk management professionals on the use of geospatial information technology for risk assessment and emergency response mapping  Regional Training in Bangkok (GIS4DRM) in collabration with AIT, ITC and ADPC. Additional training and support in partnership with UN ESCAP

13 National training in South-East Asia  2011: Vietnam (NRSC and Line ministries)  2012: Myanmar (Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement and others line ministries)  2013: Bangladesh (Ministry of disaster management and relief)  2014: Cambodia (National Commission for DRM)
