2. Important dates in the history of our school 1. September 1961 - a general secondary school was founded, it was situated in the Street of Taras Ševčenko 1971 - the general secondary school was changed to gymnasium 1. September 1994 - the school was named to Jan Adam Rayman Gymnasium Summer 1997 - the school was relocated into the building to Mudroňova 20 1998 - established eight-year gymnasium

3. Events at our school Rayman´s week: held every year in April organized to honour of Jan Adam Rayman students and professors are dressed in one of the rainbow colours each day of the week: Monday - red Tuesday - orange Wednesday - yellow Thursday - green Friday - blue

4. Benefit concert: takes place each year in Theatre of Jonáš Záborský students can present their skills: sing, dance, play on some instrument professors are a part of this event too

5. Halloween: celebrated in October students decorate their classrooms with symbols of Halloween - pumpkins, bats... some students wear frightening costumes the class with the best halloween decoration gets some sweet

6. Farewell with the students in form four: takes place in the PKO each class shows the best parts from their prom´s program the class professors give award for the best students in their class School ball: students and professors celebrate it together in the building of our school

7. Volleyball tournament: organized every year in December takes place in the school gym between students from different classes An open day: organized every year in autumn for students from primary school who want to study on this gymnasium they can see classrooms, canteen and be in the classrooms during the lessons

8. Excursions Traditional: Slovakia - PIENAP, Svidník, Dukla, Mirkovská kosatcová lúka, Bratislava Poland - Osvienčim, Krakov Ukraine - Mukačevo, Užhorod France - Paris Project Comenius: Iceland, Italy, Portugal, Turkey, London, Poland

Famous graduates of our school Katarína Knechtová singer and songwriter she was studied here in years 1996 – 1999 Ivan Tásler singer, guitarist, composer and music producer he studied here in years 1994 – 1997 Peter Nagy singer, composer, songwriter, music producer, photographer he studied here in years 1974 – 1977 Marcel Merčiak sport commentator he studied here in years 1990 – 1993
