There are many essential skills that you will need with fractions. You should be able to: 1. simplify fractions 2. convert between improper fractions & mixed numbers. 3. use your calculator efficiently.

Writing fractions with the same denominator allows us to compare the size of fractions.

Another way of writing fractions in order is to convert each fraction to a decimal before comparing them. divide numerator by denominator To convert a fraction to a decimal, divide the numerator by the denominator.

Recurring decimals infinite Recurring decimals have an infinite number of decimal places.

To convert a fraction to a percentage, multiply the fraction by 100 and include the % sign.
