2 Description Treat patients who have or had disabilities. Disabilities could be disease, injury, or loss or a body part. Goal is to try to give the patient a relief of the pain or stress they are having in a specific body part. Or Physical Therapists try to strengthen the body part so they could essentially return to their normal or everyday lives.

3 Duties and Responsibilities For every patient, Physical Therapists need to record info about the patients. They need to evaluate the status of the patients recovery to understand the speed at which there bodies recovery rate. Giving the patients an exercise schedule to help there recovery time improve. Performing tests on patients.

4 Earnings and Advancement Average earning is $60,000+. Some Physical Therapists may receive paid vacations, sick days and holidays as well. Many also receive life insurance as well as health insurance. All these benefits are based on how long they have been working and position type.

5 Employment & Job Availability There were about 186,000 Physical Therapists nationally 2008. There is supposed to be a 20 percent increase in Physical Therapists by 2016.

6 HS Courses and Required Education Some suggested HS courses are Geometry, Biology, Science, English, Chemistry, Physical Education, Physics and Trigonometry. You need to have at least your Bachelors degree.

8 Additional Facts Often referred to massage therapy. Most patients that need Physical Therapy have lower back pains.
