6.14 SOL 6.14 The student, given a problem situation, will
a) construct circle graphs; b) draw conclusions and make predictions, using circle graphs; and c) compare and contrast graphs that present information from the same data set

There are 4 sectors to match 4 sets of data.
Page____ Directions to Construct a Data: There are 60 students surveyed for eye color. 15 have blue , 6 have hazel, 3 have green, and 36 have brown. Name as fractions. Then FDP! F D P Degrees Blue /60= ¼ % ˚ Hazel /60= 1/ % ˚ Green /60= 1/ % ˚ Brown /60= 3/ % ˚ TOTAL / % ˚ 2. Draw a circle. 3. Find the center of the circle and draw a radius. There are 4 sectors to match 4 sets of data. Two ways to construct. Divide circle into 60 sections (ugh!) and color each sector to correspond. Nah! OR Use the protractor! Circles are 360˚. OF means X .25 of 360= so…90˚ .1 of 360= so… 36˚ .05 of 360= so… 18˚ .6 of 360= so… 216˚ (totals 360˚) 6.14 abc Vocabulary pg _ circle graph A graph used to compare parts of a whole. The circle represents the whole and is separated into parts of the whole, usually expressed as a percentage . A circle is 360 degrees sector scale The “slice” of the circle. The “part” of the whole. The set of all possible values of a given measurement, including the least and greatest numbers in the set, separated by the intervals used title Used to explain the subject of any graph, plot, table, or chart bar graph A graph using bars to compare quantities. The height or length of each bar represents a designated number data line graph Information, often numerical, which is gathered for statistical purposes A graph used to show how a set of data changes over a period of time

With the circle information, construct a 4 bar graphs that are equivalent. fraction Red Yellow Blue Green decimal Complete using a protractor starting with degrees. Once you have determined degrees, convert into a fraction with the denominator 360, then a decimal and then a percent.
