Company Profile Thermax Ltd. offers products, systems and solutions in energy and environment engineering to industrial and commercial establishments around the world. The sustainable solutions Thermax develops for client companies are environment friendly and enable efficient deployment of energy resources. Headquarters in Pune, Thermax’s eleven international offices are located in South East Asia, Middle East, Africa, Russia, UK and the US.

Thermax main operations are headquartered in India, with five manufacturing facilities, 12 sales and service offices and a widespread franchisee and dealer network. History of organization: Thermax ltd. came into business by harnessing this power of steam by the means of boilers. In the year 1966, A S Bhathena collaborated with a Belgian company, Wanson to commence our business operation as Wanson India Ltd. in a small manufacturing unit in Dadar (Mumbai) by making small boilers. It assumed the name Thermax Limited in the year Under the able stewardship of Late Chairman R D Aga, the company moved into a bigger orbit leading to its present stature.

Materials Department Responsibility
To ensure timely procurement of materials for production and manufacturing processes. To release purchase orders on approved supplier with appropriate technical, commercial and legal terms. Receive, store, and issue of materials. Preservation of materials during storage. Safe handling of products and materials from store to plants. Control material cost and inventory with respect to budgets. Identify new sources of materials for better quality, cost and delivery.

Authority Materials Department To authorize purchase orders.
Sales of scrap. Negotiate and finalize pricing of materials. Approval of annual contract with supplier. Authorize deviations on purchase prices. Dispose off rejections, site returned materials and scrap generated during manufacturing and storing.

Responsibility To manufacture and test the products to meet desired level of quality and delivery. Providing resources and infrastructures within production group To control cost of poor quality in process rejection scrap and rework

To inspect and recommend disposal actions on site/customer returned materials. To develop modify welding processes.

Authority Acceptance/rejection of products during various manufacturing stages and final product. Acceptance of incoming materials for products including customer supplied materials. Identifying nonconforming products/process during incoming, in process and dispatch of products/materials. Sanctioning of short supply. Process design approval. Equipment shutdown for maintenance work.
