Common Language Goals and Purpose We all set Goals…

Definition of Goal The result or achievement toward which effort is directed or aimed, a destination.

But that’s not our Purpose… Definition of Purpose * The reason for which something exists or is done.

Coaches Purpose Statements I value my success as a coach as to what our student athletes are doing years after they graduate. I want to add value to each individual and teach them life lessons that will help them in all aspects of their lives. It is my purpose to passionately help young men develop into adult citizens who will display integrity and loyalty to self, family and community.

I play and lead to conquer obstacles and be an inspiration to my teammates by showing that passion and positivity lead to togetherness and life-long friendships. Amelia Johnson Senior-Volleyball I play for my teammates, strive for excellence, and show accountability to all while we play the games that we love in the pursuit of winning. Hunter Trautman Senior-Football, Basketball, Baseball I strive for excellence at all times while holding myself and teammates accountable. What Educational Based Activities do we do? Coaches: -MSHSL Continuing Education (Extensive Training) -Rules Interp Meetings -CPR/AED Training -Why We Play Curriculum and Book -Pay for and attend specific sport and Activity clinics Students: -Senior Leadership with AD -Leadership groups within their teams/groups -Mississippi 8 Leadership Conference at SFHS August 13 th 4-8pm (coaches also) -Monthly whole group leadership meetings -Weekly or Bi-weekly Captains/Team leader meetings (in-season)

My Thoughts The Goal for our program is to win games, competitions, conference and state championships. But that isn’t our SF Activities Purpose Our Purpose is to develop in the students skills that will help them be successful in life in the present and in the future This takes intention and focus

My Thoughts And it takes clear expectations and support for coaches. We don’t get to determine who participates in our programs. We will try to help students become better athletes/participants and through the Why We Play process and if we are intentional we will grow better equipped human beings.

But that isn’t our Purpose Our Purpose is to develop in the students skills that will help them be successful in life. This takes intention and focus And it takes clear expectations and support for coaches. We don’t get to determine who participates in our programs. We will try to help students become better athletes and through that process and if we are intentional we will grow better equipped human beings.
