Your membership with JCI opens a world of opportunities, beginning in your local area. You will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on your community, meet and work alongside like-minded professionals, attend Personal Development seminars and Social events as well as make some new friends along the way.
Your fellow members will be more than happy to share their experiences in the organisation with you so meet everyone and have a chat to them about their experience with JCI.

3. About JCI
JCI Waitakere would be counted among the initial founding chapters of the JCI movement. JCI NZ has seen its members influence our local community and progress into international arenas.
This chapter would provide its members with training and guidance in governance, entrepreneurship, project planning, opportunities to impact their community positively by participating in community projects and holding skills workshops.
Locally, the chapter will focus on implementing positive change by identifying existing community challenges, determining community needs, and providing sustainable solutions through projects and programs.
JCI Waitakere will provide its members with the opportunity to demonstrate social responsibility and personal development through participation, leadership and action.
JCI is a membership-based non-profit

4. JCI Member Opportunities
Personal Development
JCI gives the chance to develop your skills by the method of “learning by doing”.
This technique allows you to get hands on experience and learn as you go. We provide a friendly and supportive environment where you can attend training programs, run projects and take on different roles to enhance your skill sets.
There are a number of knowledgeable board members with experience who are happy to support you throughout the process.

5. Leadership
JCI can give the experience needed for becoming a better leader as well as helping you to run better quality JCI project, programmes and training courses.
The skills you develop will help you in JCI and in your professional and personal life.

6. Community
We provide development opportunities aimed to empower you with the skills, confidence and knowledge you need to create positive change in the world.
Through JCI you can help investigate problems in our local community and then develop a project which will help address the issues.
You will work collaboratively with other groups, government and businesses to provide a sustainable solution which creates positive impact.

7. Getting involved How do I get involved?
All you need to do is start coming along to events and meeting other members. Ask your Local contact person or anyone on the Local JCI Board for help or more information about how to get involved.
We have many members who have been in JCI for several years and who would be happy to pass on some knowledge on their time in JCI. Everyone is very approachable and would be happy to help you get the most out of the organisation
