Events Leading Up To The Epistle… Most likely, Timothy carried Paul’s 1st letter Back in Corinth, Timothy reports… …a favorable reception of the 1st letter …a “fraudulent” letter from Paul re: the second coming of Christ 2:1-2 …some problems 3:6-15

The Epistle… Paul commends their faithfulness 1:3-12 He is thankful for their continued growth and love for each other He is thankful for their faithfulness amidst continued persecutions v. 5 He reminds them their “troublers” will eventually be “troubled” by God vv. 6-10 The Christians At Thessalonica

The Epistle… Paul addresses Jesus’ 2nd Coming 2:1-12 “Do not worry that it has already happened” As supposedly taught by Paul in a letter It won’t take place until “The Apostasy” happens first… “son of perdition” is known Much speculation as to who this was The Christians At Thessalonica

Lesson 42 – In Antioch Syria 18:18-22 Coming to Ephesus, Paul leaves Aquila and Priscilla…enters another synagogue v. 19 They request he stay with them longer…he refuses but promises to return vv. 20-21 Leaving Ephesus, he sails to Caesarea… goes to Jerusalem, then Antioch v. 22
