WHAT ARE EATING DISORDERS Approximately 36 million people in the United States have an eating disorder. eating disorder An extreme and damaging eating behavior that can lead to sickness and even death

EATING DISORDERS Eating disorders have little to do with hunger. Often, eating disorders are brought on by mental/emotional problems such as depression or low self-esteem.

BINGE EATING Many people who have a binge eating disorder are obese. binge eating disorder Compulsive overeating

ANOREXIA NERVOSA Anorexia nervosa is most common among female teens between the ages of 14 and 18.
