Column 1, #1 Heat – what is it? A form of energy.

Column 1, #2 What kind of heat is produced when two objects rub against each other? Friction

Column 1, #3 Conduction – the process of transferring heat from 1 molecule to another. Example is a metal pan placed on a stove. Heat rises up the sides of the pan and to the handle. Heat can travel by conduction or be absorbed. What does conduction mean and give an example.

Column 1, #4 Define heat absorption and give an example. Absorption – heat is taken in and held in an object. Example is the black driveway on a sunny day absorbs the sun’s rays and gets hot.

If you have a circuit with 2 light bulbs, what happens to the 2nd light bulb if the first light bulb in a series circuit is loose; what happens if it is a parallel circuit?
