Why does the tension exist? O September 11, 2001 is a day that will always be remembered. Everybody can recall this day in history, where 4 airplanes were hijacked by terrorists and were crashed into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, leaving a lasting impact on our nation. Nearly 3,000 people were killed. Since this event, some Americans have developed intolerance for Muslims.

Are Americans Holding a Grudge? O Ever since the attack on the Twin Towers, several instances have occurred where Muslims were denied certain rights, and many believe it’s because of 9/11. O Ground Zero Mosque: Muslims were denied the ability to build a place of worship near the 9/11 site.

Ground Zero Mosque O Muslims wanted to build a place of worship about a tenth of a mile away from Ground Zero, where the 9/11 crash took place. O This was a huge controversy, because those who opposed it claimed it would be like awarding Muslims for the pain they caused at the time of the 9/11 attacks, but on the other hand, is it right to deny them to build this church?
