Blog Vocabulary blog – a personal or professional website which is updated on a regular basis with an individual’s or company’s thoughts/ideas/opinions comments - feedback giving to most blogs that allow readers to add their own thoughts or opinions subscribe – this is like becoming a fan or a member of a blog; subscribing allows a person to be notified when new blog posts are written

Blog Vocab 2 Avatars are graphical images representing people. They are what you are in virtual worlds. Forums are discussion areas on websites, where people can post messages or comment on existing messages at the same time Authenticity: Used to describe “real” people behind blog posts and other social profiles.

Web Vocab Engage: If you are communicating to other social media users, you are engaging. Traffic: This refers to the visitors that visit a website chat – communicating in real-time through computers or smart phones, by writing messages back-and-forth, this is communication involving two or more people chat room – an area within a website where ‘chats’ happen

Web Vocab 2 Social networking: online places where users can create a profile for themselves, and then socialize with others using a range of social media tools including blogs, video, images, tagging, lists of friends, forums and messaging. Viral: Anything shared across social networks that get passed along rapidly. YouTube videos are a great example. Trending: A word, phrase or topic that is popular on Twitter at a given moment.

Web Vocab 3 instant messaging/IM – this is like chatting, but is on-line communication, generally only between two people and sometimes this is not done in real-time URL – this stands for Unique Resource Locator; it is the technical term for a web address like http://www.pgasd.com http://www.pgasd.com e-Book: A book published in digital form.

Web Vocab 4 wiki – a web page, or group of pages, that can be edited or changed by a group of people. a web page with many contributors who are not paid for their contributions app – Performs a specific function on your computer or handheld device. Apps can be anything from Web browsers and games to specialized programs like digital recorders, online chat or music players.
