2 Centers for Applied Competitive Technologies CACTs have 12 centers strategically located throughout California. Companies and manufacturing professionals can call on the CACT Centers for customized technical training in over 100 areas of expertise Access to new manufacturing technologies Education and advanced technical seminars Customized employment training Resolution of specific manufacturing problems Expertise on facilitating technology transfer opportunities Focused on increasing productivity, CACTs assist clients in Continuous quality improvements Process modernization E-Commerce Environmentally sound manufacturing Workforce assessment and training Lean manufacturing techniques Six Sigma Quality Our mission is to help California's manufacturing industry compete successfully in changing markets and the global economy through Applied Competitive Technologies and workforce education We accomplish this through technology education, manufacturing training, and services that contribute to continuous workforce development, technology deployment and business development

5 Centers for Applied Competitive Technologies and College Partnerships Develop partnerships with local colleges to assist Career Technical Educational Programs (CTE) Develop partnerships with companies Assist colleges in identifying changes in technology Assist colleges in establishing partnerships with WIBs, One-Stops and Companies Assist in identifying possible funding sources for programs

6 CACT and Tech Prep Partnership Identify programs related to technology Work with Colleges to identify curricula that needs to be upgraded to meet industry standards for manufacturing/technology workforce Partner with Colleges to recruit students to manufacturing/technology programs
