9 Operation Fast Forward I - Results Traffic signals initiated and returned to normal when programmed –One route did not activate –Pedestrian signals only counted down from 99 Remote traffic signaling software was successfully initiated News media proved to be an effective outlet for educating public on the evacuation plan Additional DDOT staff is needed to support complex operational endeavors.

10 Operation Fast Forward II - Results All routes in the District activated to 240 second cycle –Rest of the region monitored routes and augmented as necessary Use of 800MHz radios was a success –DDOT vs VDOT was an issue Need to better understand how regional routes should operate. Dispatching DDOT Liaisons to multiple agencies was a success.

11 Fast Forward III July 4, 2007 Potential Activities –Additional Routes Same routes as last year but add –E street (to I-66) –Pennsylvania Ave NW / to M St. over Key Bridge (to GW Parkway) –16th Street NW (via Georgia Ave to Beltway) –Wisconsin Ave NW (via Rockville Pike) –Mass Transit –Activate 2 transfer points and offer free bus service from the metro station to the transfer point location –Regional Press Conference Present regional transportation safety and security programs from the previous year.
