Recent History of EDC in Colombia Colombia has been supported by an EDC rep in the Andean region since 2009. In early 2013 EDC announced the opening of a new S. American representation in Bogotá, Colombia. Colombia has emerged as a significant regional business hub, with strong sector focus in extractive and infrastructure. There is a signed Free Trade Agreement in place with Canada In 2012, EDC served 207 companies vs. 136 in 2008 – a five-year customer growth of 52% EDC supported ~ CAD 431 million of Canadian exports and investments in Colombia in 2012 Exporters of all sizes including more and more SMEs across multiple sectors are finding a market for their products in Colombia
