26 September 2000 Fowler Duke HEP Sense Wire Procurement Luma, Osram and Toshiba wires were evaluated Toshiba was considered the highest quality from initial test Two pre-series of wire have been procured from Toshiba Both have been evaluated One has been approved and is being used in production Full production order being submitted Audit of facility tentatively scheduled for Oct 2000

26 September 2000 Fowler Duke HEP Evaluate Cleaning Effects Evaluate the affects of cleaning the wire in ultrasonic cleaner after wire joint process First evaluate any damage to the wire due to the cleaning Second evaluate the effectiveness of the cleaning process Samples were evaluated uncleaned, after 30 seconds, 1 minute, 5 minutes, and 10 minutes 30 seconds was found to be as effective as longer cleanings
