House of Tomorrow Short to Medium term: Large scale integration of renewable energy sources and energy efficiency; Cost effective supply of renewable energy resources Eco-buildings. Medium to Long term: New and advanced concepts in renewable energy, (PV, geothermal, concentrated solar).

Renewable Energy Short to Medium term: Cost effective supply of renewable energy resources; Large scale integration of renewable energy sources and energy efficiency; Medium to Long term: Fuel cells, including their application; New technologies for energy carriers, transport and storage, in particular hydrogen; New and advanced concepts in renewable energy technologies (Biomass, PV, Wind, Geothermal, Concentrated Solar, Ocean).

Combined Heat & Power Short to Medium term: Cost effective supply of renewable energy resources: Innovative combinations of biomass with fossil fuels; Cofiring biomass/wastes; Improvement of competitiveness of polygeneration (cost reduction); Innovative integration of polygeneration (improve interaction between supply and demands).

Next steps Consider if your area of interest is included in any of the new Calls; Scope out your ideas on the ‘Outline for Proposal’ one-pager; Send an electronic copy of your project outline to SEI (recommend max. 4/6 week timeframe); Begin networking / initiate partner search to estabilish international/national/regional/ local partners.

Post-submission to EU Commission Successful application (max. funding): SEI may be interested in funding the dissemination of results from your project. Successful application (limited funding): SEI may be interested in ‘topping-up’ EU funding to the appropriate State Aid limit; SEI may be interested in funding the dissemination of results from your project.

Rules of engagement Participation: 3 for IP & NoE with 2 from member states or associated candidate countries; 2 for STRP, CA & SSA with 1 from member state or associate candidate country. Contracts / signatures Contractual link of all contractors with the commission; however, contract enters into force upon signature of only coordinator and Commission; Coordinator must ensure other contractors sign within delays.

Financial provisions Cost categories gone; Costs must be: Actual, economic & necessary for the project; Incurred during the duration of the project; Recorded in the accounts; Follow contractors own accounting rules; Must exclude indirect taxes, duties, interest etc. Audit certificates by external auditor; (Public bodies – competent public officer).
