2 The Assignment Indicator 14: Percent of youth who had IEPs, are no longer in secondary school and who have been competitively employed, enrolled in some type of postsecondary school, or both, within one year of leaving high school. (20 U.S.C. 1416(a)(3)(B))

4 Issues to Consider Individual student connection between exit and follow-up process? Individual student id number and access to other data collections? Does state tie post school outcomes into monitoring? Where is state in the process of uniting reporting and accountability between Indicators 1, 2, 13, and 14?

5 Oregon combines census and stratified sampling State submits summary data each year that represents the ethnic, gender, disability and exiting method of all exited students in the state. To gather these results, some groups of students – like drop-outs will be ‘over sampled’ to insure adequate numbers. Districts with less than 15 exited students interview all Districts with more than 15 exited students interview 15 per school or transition program

10 Data Collection Process General Process: If online data entry not possible, use downloadable copy of paper survey District determines method of assigning calls Students selected were reported on Spring 07 Exit collection, but not Dec 07 SECC Grants provide $15 per completed ‘required’ or ‘alternate’ interview
