8.  NDPL has AMR enabled meter base of 25000 meters of three different meter makes.  Common S/W for data collection, processing and analysis developed jointly by NDPL and CMC.  This S/W uses APIs for reading and data conversion of different meters into common data format.  Automatic data analysis through system as per schedules.

9.  Selective data collection from meters is not possible.  APIs cant be used to limited programming of meters.  Standards for performance and testing of API are not available.  Trouble shooting / improving performance of API always necessitates support from meter supplier. Limitations
