© 2008 Autodesk How do I find a command? The Ribbon toolbar is organized by category. To find a sketch tool, look in the Sketch section. To find a tool that operates on a solid body, look in the Solid section.

© 2008 Autodesk I have a new, blank document. How do I start a sketch? Simply pick any sketch tool and you will be prompted to pick a plane to start sketching on. If you start from a blank document, you will be given the option of sketching on any of the 3 standard planes.

© 2008 Autodesk I entered a value for a sketch dimension. But after editing a second dimension, the first one changed. What happened? Entering values in Sketch Heads-Up Displays creates transient dimensions. These dimensions are free to change if other changes are made to the sketch at a later point. Use the pin or the Sketch Dimension tool to create a permanent dimension that will not change.

© 2008 Autodesk I have invoked a command (e.g. rectangular pattern). What do I do next? How do I use this command? To learn how to use a command: 1.Before invoking, Mouse over the command and wait. You will be presented with a tooltip or video that explains how the command works.

© 2008 Autodesk 2. Once a command is invoked, look at the context ribbon. It will give you a hint about the inputs required to execute the command This command expects some objects to be selected, and a direction for the pattern. Note that the green check mark will not be enabled until the inputs have been satisfied.

© 2008 Autodesk How do I use a Manipulator? Mouse-over a manipulator component and pause for a couple of seconds to get help in the form of a tooltip.

© 2008 Autodesk What is Construction Geometry? When would I use it? Construction geometry is non-model helper geometry. A Work Axis can be used to define the center of a Circular Pattern For example, a Work Plane can be used to define a mirroring plane to mirror features.
