2. Caregivers can find multilingual health materials easily and quickly through the Multilingual Health Resources Exchange.

3. The Exchange is a group of Minnesota healthcare providers and agencies. We’ve agreed to pool our resources to provide better care to patients who speak languages other than English.

4. In addition to sharing multilingual material, members of the Exchange also work together to establish best practices for communicating with patients who speak little or no English.

5. To search for the health education materials you need, start by entering our user name and password on the log-in page.

6. Then you can search the database of materials by topic area, by language, by topic and language, by keyword, or by format — print, video or audio.

7. Finding the material you need is simple. For instance, if you decide to search by topic area, you start at this screen. Just click on the subject area that interests you…

8. Say you choose “Immunization.” You’ll be offered choices in various languages. Pick the subject and language that’s appropriate for your patient…

9. You’ll be taken to a screen that gives you a quick description of the material. If it’s what you want, click on “Download.”

10. A PDF version of the material you need is delivered almost instantly to your computer. Print as many copies as you want, as often as you want, from any office with a computer and an internet connection.
