July 8 th : Lotte World amusement park(22) Check out of Hotel By roundtrip bullet train tickets an depart for Busan(57 dollars one way) Meet host families/dinner

Busan: July 9-15th July 9 th : Korean students finish tests Meet at school entrance Jagalchi market, Beomeosa, Haeundae/Gwangali beach, July 10 th – 13 th : Attend school and family activities Present project on one of these days. July 14 th -15 th : Family trips to Gyeongju (ancient capital city)

Busan:July 16 th -23rd July 16 th : Daegu day trip to see elementary students and help practice English, (Bus fare 12 dollars)Apsan mountain hike? July 17 th : -19 th : Attend school (Vacation starts for Korean students this week, school may be an option or not) July 20 th -22 nd : Solo activities with host families. July 23 rd return to Seoul and head home.

What to bring Passport (most important and always keep on you) Cell phones with texting app/translator app if available Emergency contacts Emergency cash (50 dollars) Contact of host student and host family Medical information (allergies, etc.)

What to pack Summer clothes: at least 7 days worth(it gets hot and humid in Seoul/Daegu/ and Gyeongju in July) Start talking with partner student about washing clothes (Koreans often have washing machines, but hang dry clothes) Swimsuit, sandals, other beach gear (sun block) Comfortable shoes (lots of walking) Hat Spending money for food in Seoul, train tickets, souvenirs (subway fares vary from.75 cents to 1.50 depending on how far you are going)

What to pack 1 change of school clothes (do not wear shorts and tanks to the school.) Ask partners what is appropriate. Deodorant: You will not find in stores, Koreans don’t wear. Toothpaste: Koreans do not use fluoride in their toothpaste Toiletries Weather might be rainy

What to expect Seoul: Strict meeting times. Make sure you are on time so that we do not send out the Korean military to find you. Lock down times=Do not leave hotel!!! Always carry your passport on you Stay with the group/partner. Do not go anywhere alone. If you get lost look for this picture:

What to expect Always keep hotel business card with you Train stations get very crowded: stick together Busan: Always travel with partner Take your shoes off before entering their house Bow when you say hello to family/teachers for the first time Offer small gift to family (English teacher/principal) Check in daily after school by texting me Set up times to contact and check in with parents.

What to expect Be careful when walking and crossing streets: Pedestrians do not have the right of way here. Koreans (especially males and older women) talk very loud. Sounds like shouting, don’t mind it. Be prepared to enter and depart subway/busses/ trains quickly: they don’t stop for long. Be careful, BUT HAVE FUN!!!! Enjoy the experience!
